2026 Mazda CX-5 Redesign: Next-Gen Compact SUV Spied
Drivers waiting for news on the 2026 Mazda CX-5 redesign won’t have long to wait. Based on recent spy shots of a camouflaged Mazda CX-5 during testing, Mazda will soon release a redesigned version of its top-selling model. It will also spawn a first-ever CX-5 Hybrid variant.
2026 Mazda CX-5 Design
The 2026 Mazda CX-5 redesign is one of evolution, not revolution, according to the latest spy shots of the compact crossover testing in the wild.
The spied CX-5 under wraps closely mimics the general shape and style of the second-generation KF model, with similar proportions and design elements like an irregular-pentagon-shaped grille with rounded edges, a hockey stick shape running down the beltline and up toward the roof, and an integrated rear spoiler partially covering the tailgate glass.
Up front, the hood forms an edge over the rounded five-point grille, flanked by boomerang-shaped headlamps. The top portion of the headlights closely follow the design of the second-gen CX-5, only slimmer, but are paired with a vertical element running down the side of the grille.
2026 Mazda CX-5 Dimensions
The redesigned 2026 Mazda CX-5 appears slightly more substantial than the aging yet still stylish model it replaces. We’ll have to wait until Mazda releases the full CX-5 specs and dimensions to know for certain, but the third-gen model could see its rear legroom and cargo space increase significantly based on early photos.
That extra space could help it better compete with more sizable models like the Honda CR-V and CR-V Hybrid.
