2008 Mazda MX-5 PRHT: Mazda Gem of the Day

2008 Mazda MX-5 PRHT: Mazda Gem of the Day

This 2008 Mazda MX-5 PRHT is today’s Mazda Gem of the Day. It’s a low-mileage example of the third-generation or NC Miata that debuted for the 2006 model year.

The 2008 MAZDA MX-5 Power Retractable Hardtop (PRHT) Miata features a distinctive quick-folding power hardtop that folds and unfolds in about 12 seconds.

What’s even better is that the PRHT doesn’t intrude on the NC Miata’s already modest trunk space.

As a top-trim Grand Touring edition, this 2008 MX-5 sports key upgrades from the base Sport trim and mid-level Touring, including highlights like:

  • Leather-trimmed seats
  • Faux leather door trim
  • BOSE Audio System with 7 Speakers
  • Leather shift knob with silver ring
  • Silver trimmed door pull handle cap & door
    speaker ring
  • Heated seats
  • 17-inch aluminum-alloy wheels

This particular Mazda MX-5 Miata PRHT Grand Touring includes the Appearance Package that adds attractive and sporty exterior styling elements. Included in the Appearance Package are a front air dam, side skirts and a rear underskirt that give the NC Miata’s subdued design a slightly more aggressive look.

With just 23,131 miles, the car’s True Red paint and black interior look as close to showroom condition as one could expect.

Every NC Miata came equipped with a 2.0-liter inline 4-cylinder engine, with this one making 166 hp and coupled with a 6-speed manual gearbox.

At the time of this writing, the seller is asking $19,990 for this 23k-mile MX-5 Miata PRHT for sale.
