2025 Mazda CX-70 Debut Set for January 30

2025 Mazda CX-70 Debut Set for January 30

The 2025 Mazda CX-70 debut is scheduled and just around the corner. Only days into the new year, Mazda Canada announced the 2025 Mazda CX-70 reveal date via social media.

The much-anticipated 2025 Mazda CX-70 debut date has been set for January 30, 2024. The first-ever Mazda CX-70 two-row SUV will join its midsize stablemate, the three-row CX-90, at Mazda dealerships soon after, following a months-long delay. The automaker had originally planned to release the CX-70 by late 2023.

2025 Mazda CX-70 Arriving With Three Engine Options

Expect the 2025 Mazda CX-70 reveal to bring a stylish new Mazda midsize SUV that’s lighter, shorter, quicker, and more affordable than the three-row CX-90.

Like the three-row Mazda CX-90 and CX-90 PHEV models currently available, the fresh new CX-70 lineup will include two versions of the carmaker’s new inline-six turbocharged engine with a mild hybrid setup, plus a four-cylinder plug-in hybrid variant.

Anticipating Mazda CX-70 & CX-70 PHEV Availability in Spring 2024

You might recall that the first-ever 2024 CX-90 three-row SUV was announced by Mazda in early February 2023, with availability starting later that spring.

The 2025 Mazda CX-70 debut date is nearly one year after the CX-90 reveal, so we suspect a similar timeline for Mazda CX-70 availability: starting from spring 2024.

If the rollout of the larger CX-90 lineup is any indication, expect the CX-70 inline-six models and the CX-70 PHEV, or plug-in hybrid variant, to reach dealer showrooms around the same time.

Mazda has been pleasantly surprised with interest in the CX-90 PHEV and even adjusted its production mix to account for the plug-in hybrid’s demand. We expect the debut of its shortened sibling, the two-row CX-70, to bring even greater demand than the three-row model, with both the inline-six and PHEV finding buyers at showrooms starting in spring 2024.

So if you’re waiting until after the reveal to decide whether a CX-70 inline-six or a PHEV model will be your next SUV, you’ll likely be able to test drive the multiple powertrain options at Mazda dealers this spring.
