All-New 2026 Mazda CX-5 Debut: July 10, 2025

All-New 2026 Mazda CX-5 Debut: July 10, 2025

It’s official: Mazda unveils the all-new, third-generation Mazda CX-5 on July 10, 2025. The long-awaited redesign of the marque’s top-selling model, which last saw a complete redesign for the 2017 model year, arrives for 2026 with a fresh new exterior, interior, and underpinnings.

The all-new 2026 Mazda CX-5 debut brings a distinctive new design language to the popular compact SUV, albeit with some influence from recent Mazda designs, such as the large-platform CX-90. As you can see from the initial teaser images released by Mazda, the 2026 CX-5 redesign features a similar footprint and silhouette to previous CX-5 models but boasts an edgier shape and styling.

As was speculated in some of our earlier coverage of the redesigned Mazda CX-5, the highly anticipated third-generation model is more spacious inside, too – a common request from customers that did not go unnoticed by Mazda. The reimagined SUV arrives with a roomier passenger cabin for up to five, as well as greater cargo space than the second-generation CX-5 model it replaces.

New Mazda powertrain technology is here, too, with the all-new 2026 CX-5 premiering the carmaker’s new Skyactiv-Z engine, to be followed up shortly by a Mazda-developed gas-electric hybrid variant in the first-ever CX-5 Hybrid, which we’ve also previewed previously.
